Comics Events:
Every May we participate in Free Comic Book Day, a worldwide event in which millions are comics are given away for free. The event is intended to promote comics to new readers, but is also a cool way to get free comics, especially since many titles are limited and found only at this event.

In October we host 24-Hour Comics Day, another worldwide event, started by Scott McCloud and Steve Bissette in 1990. It is an in-store event where local artists stay up all night to create an entire comic book. (You can do this at home, of course, but we bet it will be more fun here!) 2009 was our first year and it was a blast. With donations from local businesses of food, coffee, and art supplies, we're looking forward to awesome comics again this October.

Not an event, but we do offer Pull Lists for our regular comics customers. Pull Lists are subscription lists for comics - you agree to buy them at our store, and we hold your chosen titles for you. Customers with a current Pull List receive 10% off all single-issue comics.

View our event calendar for more details about our comics events!

178810 3 Story: The Secret History of the Giant Man
Kindt, Matt (Author)

This is a fantastic graphic novel for those looking to read something that doesn't focus on capes and cowls, which is the sole connecting them of our Alternative Comics selection. 3 Story is a larger-than-life biography of Craig Pressgang, the famous giant man as told in 3 chapters by the three women closest to him. Matt Kindt illustrates in a manner that makes you pay attention - art you have to work for - but it is worth it.
