Details: Original cover art painting by Kurt Cyrus, who has done numerous illustrations for young adult book covers and children's books. He is the author of Hotel Deep, Slow Train to Oxmox, Tangle Town, and Oddhopper Opera. He has illustrated books for Lisa Wheeler, Eve Bunting, Charlotte Pomerantz, Judith Matthews and more. This finely detailed piece was used for the Harcourt Young Classics edition of this beloved Carl Sandburg title. It was featured on both hardcover and paperback editions. Sandburg is best known for his poetry, and was the receipient of two Pulitzer prizes during his writing career.
