A Popular History of France From the Earliest Times by M. Guizot
(the author the The Popular History of England). This seven volume set,
translated by Robert Black, comprises a history of France from the Gauls
until 1812. It includes volumes 1-7. There is some browning to pages;
a few pages have small chips and closed tears. The title page of the first
volume is starting to come loose. There is light rubbing and bumping to
corners, minor scuff to covers, and pencilled prices to endpapers. A solid
and attractive set with black and white illustrations.

The Spirit World Unmasked by Henry Ridgely Evans. This hard cover
was published by Laird & Lee Publishers in Chicago in 1902. There is a
previous owner label and a small paper chip to the inside front cover,
as well as some brief pencil marking to front endpaper. The cover corners
show some scuffing, rubbing and faint areas of soiling. It's still a clean
copy overall. Illustrated in black and white, it covers such interesting
topics as: Spiritualism, Telepathy, Psychography, Theosophy, and Apparitions
of the Dead.

Buffalo Yoga, Poems by Charles Wright. This discounted hard cover
was published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 2004. Charles Wright, author
of Black Zodiac (which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1998) and Appalachia,
as well as many other books of poetry, will fill you again with eloquent
words, inspired by "ancient Chinese painters and writers". He transitions
easily between the real and the abstract in his "oblique, expansive, and
profound" writings.
